Finding Bangkok Property?

We'd love all our visitors to stay on MrRoomfinder and find everything the Thailand real estate market has to offer. But to be fair, there's a lot of Thai property out there and no single online site has got it all.

MRF offers visitors 2 types of search option for finding Bangkok realestate. If you can't find what you're looking for on Mr. Roomfinder, you will most probably return to the search engines and continue looking for more Bkk apartments and condos. Bangkok has to offer its tenants, it really does. But not knowing how to search properly will limit your success. Keep reading for MRF's search tips.

The most popular search terms used by Thailand's home hunters typically include; Bangkok apartment rental; condos Bangkok; condominium Bangkok; Bangkok properties and so on and so forth. Even though British and Australasian home hunters use the term 'flat' back home in place of apartment, they more often than not also search for Bangkok properties using the popular phrases above. Try looking again using phrases such as Bangkok flat, Bangkok flats (plural), baan Bangkok (baan or ban, is Thai for house or home), Bangkok ban; Thai baan, and baan Thai. You will see that you quickly uncover properties and sites that you hadn't found previously, thus resulting in more choices to add to your shortlist.

Narrow the Niche

If you know with certainty the area that you would like to live in, or even more specifically the nearest school, university, Bangkok SkyTrain station (BTS) or Underground Metro (MRTA), then use them in your search phrases to narrow down your search and save time. Some examples might be to search using expressions like: apartment Sukhumvit road or apartment Thonglor BTS, for example. If you're looking for upscale of serviced homes try using Bangkok luxury apartments, Bangkok luxury condo or Bangkok serviced apartments to name but a few ideas.

Number of Rooms

Once again, if you know how many rooms you need, this too can help to narrow down your Thailand property hunt even more. A search term such as Bangkok Rentals will give you an overwhelming plethora of options to rake through, whereas typing or selecting (in the case of a Search tool), something like Bangkok studio apartment Silom, or 2 bedroom condo Ekamai, will help your property pursuit no end.

Keeping Track

It's very easy to forget what you've typed and therefore common to keep repeating your search terms for Thai and Bangkok property over and over again. Inevitably, this will mean that you'll keep coming up with the same old results time after time which can be frustrating to say the least. If you keep track of the search terms you've been using, then you can avoid this common nuisance. Just keep a simple list in a MS Word or Notepad of the exact phrases you've used so far, and your home hunting will become much more structured and far less aggravation.

The Search Engines

Not all the Search Engines are the same! Although a lot of them will list the same sites for the same or similar search terms, they will also uncover some results that are different. Therefore, don't narrow your Thai or Bangkok home seeking down to just Google. Use the others too, especially the new BING and Yahoo search options.

"Search Using Quotes"

If you know the name of your Bangkok apartment or condo building, then searching with quotes will give your more targeted results. Searching with quotes means placing quotation marks around a specific portion (or all) of the words that you type in a search box. A search for say Metro Park Sathorn will now look something like this; "Metro Park Sathorn" Bangkok.

So when using quotes in your search phrase, the search engine will only retrieve those web pages which contain an exact match to the phrase that you put between those quotes. If you don't use quotes, then the results can be pages that contain all or some of the words in your search but not necessarily as a phrase. In the example here, there might be pages that have the words metro, park, and sathorn anywhere on the page but has no reference to the actual phrase or the property Metro Park Sathorn.
